Why Veritas?

In Roman mythology, Veritas is the goddess of Truth and Virtue’s mother. Truth is undeniably the most important core value in golf. Without truth, without Veritas, the competitive game of golf simply would not exist. By naming this tournament Veritas, all participants and organizers have a constant reminder of this core value.

The brilliance of the game of golf is players often become lifelong friends, colleagues and competitors.  To that purpose, it is essential that Veritas, created to be a Major International Multi-Division Junior Golf competition, offer as many qualified Junior Golfers from as many places around the world the opportunity to participate.

The organizers of Veritas are bound to the principle of continuous improvement. Complacency and inertia are incompatible with Veritas. The organizers of Veritas commit to vigilance and thoughtfulness to ensure the rules, structure and policies are ‘true’ to the furtherance of Junior Golf.  It is essential to recognize that rules applied to adults may not be beneficial to the development and enjoyment of Junior Golf.
